100 Mile Manitoba Blog and News Site

WHAT? A welcoming community of at least 100 people, eating food grown within 100 miles of their home for 100 days. This is a collective effort: skills, knowledge and support will be widely shared in our group to ensure every committed person can participate regardless of their particular resources.

Why?

  • To celebrate the abundance, diversity and taste of locally-grown food and the people that grow it
  • To increase direct linkages between consumers and Manitoba food producers, working towards new opportunities for Manitoba growers
  • To participate in the creation and promotion of a more ecologically and socially just way of eating
  • To raise awareness about food justice issues in Manitoba and globally
  • To increase personal self-discipline and collective action around food justice
